UPDATE: 8/24/09

  The school year has gotten off to a busy start! GSES started with right around 860 kids!!
We're definitely going to need the help of some parent volunteers. The front office personnel has been cut because of financial issues, so parent volunteers are welcome.

Also, we were sad to see Mr. Griffin move to another system. We have a new Assistant Principal from Fairhope who is learning the ropes, and she is doing a great job!

UPDATE: 6/1/09

 THE GSES PTSO, FABULOUS PARENTS, AND FANTASTIC ADMINISTRATION HAVE WORKED TO RAISE THE $50,000 NEEDED FOR THEIR PLAYGROUND IN JUST 9 MONTHS!!!!!!  WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SHOW OF SUPPORT!!!
The ribbon cutting was held in May. Those in attendance included councilman Steve Jones, OB Mayor Tony Kennon, representatives from The Oyster House, Sea and Suds, Mrs. Regina Coaker and Mrs. Brook Taylor (GSES PTSO), several of our thankful 3rd-6th grade students and teachers, and many, many more.

THROUGH FUNDRAISING EFFORTS OF OUR GSES PARENTS AND TEACHERS, AND ADMINISTRATION, ALL PROMETHEAN BOARDS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED AND INSTALLED IN EVERY CLASSROOM!!!!!!!!!! FABULOUS!
